What is K-Comm (Knowledge-based Community)?

K-Comm stands for Knowledge Community

K-Comm is a knowledge-based social network where people come to
  1. seek answers to their questions and
  2. to be linked to people who might know the answers to the questions.
As the name suggests, members can form communities and group with like-minded people according to their areas of interest (real-life groups like students taking a particular module, belonging to a certain country etc.). It provides for a gathering of user profiles, structuring and categorizing of questions, representation of answers in multiple formats (Q&A, taxonomy, mind map, related questions/answers) and rating of answers. A "knowledge resume" is automatically generated based on the user's history of answering questions. Instead of stereotyping experts and novices, K-Comm’s expert directory is built on the belief that every individual is an expert in one area or the other – and helps capture this, enhancing the individual’s self-worth in the process.
